ACHL teams get ready for playoffs in Midland on Mar. 16-18 If you played in the Adray Community Hockey League, you should know about the ACHL college scholarship. Now in its 26th year, the Adray family has contributed over $200,000 in scholarship funds to 148 high school seniors who have participated at least one season in the ACHL. The 2006 Adray Scholarship winners were: Daniel Chesney of Wyandotte, Brandon Gorton of St. Joseph, Robert Matulonis of Grosse Ile, Alexander Parrish of Monroe and Kyle Paryaski of Wyandotte. The Mike and Louise Adray/ACHL Scholarship Award is a one-year scholarship open to any first year student enrolling in a Michigan college, community college or trade school. Applicants must have participated at least one season on an ACHL team and should show academic success in high school. The scholarship is presented to the student and is not to exceed the tuition for your freshman year. Financial need will be considered in the selection process and fiinancial Aid Forms (FAF of FFS) should be on file at the college of your choice. Look for the application on the ACHL website: adrayhockey.org, fill out the appropriate sections of the application and return it to the school to be completed and forwarded to the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee. The application must be postmarked by May 31, 2007. In addition, a recommendation must be filled out by the applicant’s local ACHL Delegate and forwarded directly to the selection committee.
